Why we do matha take

We do Matha take, meaning bowing to Guru, to show our love and respect and acceptance of the teaching.  When we do matha take we are basically saying to whome we matha take (bowing) to is that we hereby surrender to the higher power.  We only do matha take to Adh Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (The True teaching and guidance of God) for Blessing, to be one with one God.  We accept that Guru's teaching as God.
